Magic Loop
September 13, 2006
I finally got past the increase rows on my toe-up cast on magic loop socks. Now I’m on the easy part. It’s fun using the Addi circulars after learning on bamboo. I can’t believe I’m using such fine yarn and making such tiny stitches!
This yarn is so pretty. It was given to me by one of Maryka’s
college friends, Dharia McGrew, who handpainted it. When I wound the skein into a ball the
colors really came alive. Knitted, it’s even prettier. It's called "Tropicana Tango".
Dharia named her line of yarns Skeintily Clad. Her web site is at http://skeintilyclad.com/. Good job Dharia!!
I photographed some Morning Glories at Kimball's the other day. They seem to glow with an inner light. I remember my mother giving me some Morning Glory seeds when I was little. She showed me how to plant them and I watched them sprout and grow up the sunny side of the back yard fence.
My pride and joy knew no bounds when one day there was a flower on my carefully tended vine. As soon as I got home from school I went right out to admire it again. Imagine my dismay to find that the beautiful flower was gone! I rushed into the house, announcing sorrowfully that someone had picked the Morning Glory. I learned then why its name is "Morning Glory".

Your socks are gorgeous- love that yarn! My morning glories were confused yesterday with the clouds and cool weather and they forgot to close at all. Silly things :)

I love that yarn! I'm going to wait until she has some more and get some sock yarn (because we all know...sock yarn doesn't count as a yarn purchase!)
By the way, those socks look great!
